Create your own Triptych, Guide
How to make a Triptych in Photoshop for Three on a Theme
Create a new document (the background)
File>New>width1600pixels> height 1200 pixels> background contents black/white/any colour you wish
Open the three images
File>Open (select all 3 or open them individually)
Move each image onto the background
Open the 1st image> select the move tool (top of toolbar, a cross with arrows) and drag the image on top of the background i.e. drag it up to the name of the background (which will be called Untitled1 unless you have renamed it). The background will open then without letting go, move down onto the background (a little + will appear) then let go. Pull the corners (hold shift to maintain perspective) to make it approximately 1/3 of the width of the background. Alternatively, you could also use Edit>Transform>Scale to resize. Notice your image will appear as a layer on the right which you can return to to move around and resize as necessary.
Repeat the above for images 2 and 3
I usually resize and move the images around by eye to place them where I want them. Notice that when you have an image in the centre, a blue line appears to tell you it is centred. To ensure all images are the same size, move one on top of another and drag corners until it covers the first image then return it to its proper place.
Add Title
Select Text tool from left toolbar (it’s a ‘T’). Drag a text box where you want it. Delete the text which is in there by default and add your own. Adjust size, font etc in top tool bar. NB Colour is black by default so you won’t see it if your background is black. Make it white. Don’t forget to click the tick when you are done.
Flatten image
Layer>Flatten image (at bottom of the list)
Crop finished triptych
Not always necessary depending where you have placed the 3 images. 3 portrait images fill the space better than 3 landscape images. For the latter you may want to remove some of the background above and below.
Save
File>Save as>Name it>jpg (it will save as a photoshop file unless you change it to jpg)
