The Northern Counties Photographic Federation (NCPF) is an umbrella organisation covering 50+ clubs mainly in Northumberland, Durham, Tyne and Wear, Cleveland and Cumbria. It exists to provide mutual help between clubs by organising such as lecturers and judges lists, portfolios of prints and pdi for circulation, an international exhibition and ad hoc events.
The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) is an organisation consisting of Federations like the NCPF covering the entire country from Cornwall to the Northern Isles of Scotland plus Northern Ireland in all about 1000 clubs are affiliated. In addition clubs in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Gibraltar are included. The PAGB organises national exhibitions, national judges lists and sets guidelines for judges and lecturers travelling expenses to clubs. It also makes submissions to relevant Government departments on such matters as copyright, photography in public places etc. It is also affiliated to FIAP.
FIAP (International Federation of Photographic Art) is a worldwide organisation of national associations such as PAGB with member organisations on all continents. All considerations of colour, class or creed are banned. It exists to foster cooperation between photographers. It organises and gives recognition to international exhibitions, and other events of mutual interest.
PAGB Distinctions:
CPAGB Credit of PAGB member to submit 10 prints or PDI not a mixed bag, the judging level is good club photography.
DPAGB Distinction of PAGB member to submit 15 prints or PDI not a mixed bag, the judging level is open national exhibition standard.
MPAGB Distinction of PAGB member to submit 20 prints or PDI not a mixed bag, the judging level is highest standard of UK amateur photography.
All the above can also be obtained with AV sequences.
APAGB= award for meritorious service to PAGB or Federation or club or a combination of more than one of these for an extended number of years.
Hon PAGB is an award for exceptional service to PAGB
